Crowns

Crowns are advised when it is necessary to protect, strengthen and restore teeth. They may also be used to cover discoloured or misshapen teeth to improve the overall appearance of your smile.

Available in a range of materials, our crowns permanently sit over the entire visible surface of your existing tooth and are made to look as real as your own natural tooth.

The procedure takes two appointments. At the first appointment, we minimally shape the tooth and place a temporary crown. About 14 days later at your second appointment, we remove the temporary crown, place your new crown and check the fit and your bite.

The crown can last for many years if good oral hygiene is maintained, depending on the condition of the original tooth. Additional care should be taken to keep the crown and surrounding area clean. Your Newcastle Dental Practice dentist or dental hygienist will recommend an appropriate home care regime.

Newcastle dental practice is amazing. I needed an emergancy appointment due to serve tooth pain they got me in the same day as early as possible. My appointment was with Marcus who was extremely friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. He made me feel at ease instantly and explained everything that he needed to do. He gave the options to me and was very transparent with everything. Having a tooth being removed can be stressful but Marcus made me feel calm throughout the whole process. Would recommend Marcus and the staff over at Newcastle dental to everybody. Sarah is also amazing on reception

Now I have found such an amazing dental practice I would never move. The team are fantastic and all clearly enjoy what they do. Marcus and Claire always make me feel very informed and the communication from the reception staff is outstanding. Sometimes appointments can run behind, but you can tell that is because dentists here really do invest in every client, so it's never an issue to wait. I cannot recommend this practice enough!
